Dubai is arguably the most developed place on earth, with a host of projects lined up that will secure its place as the city of the future. Your tour will begin at Dubai’s most important mosque, the Jumeirah mosque, and will continue to the Burj al Arab, the second tallest hotel in the world and the face of the country. Later, you will visit Palm Jumeirah, an artificial island in the shape of a palm that is home to the luxurious Atlantis hotel among others. There you will board the hanging monorail for better coverage of the branches of the palm till you reach the Dubai Marina. This area of Dubai is filled with skyscrapers consolidating it as the largest coastal project of its kind. In the Dubai Marina, the housing options project just how luxurious the city really is which will be an opportunity for you to learn more about the future of business in the Emirates.
After this, you will delve into the gigantic Mall of Emirates, a massive shopping center housing Ski Dubai: the world’s largest indoor ski slope. Dubai’s metro is another great step towards modernity: it is the only driverless and fully automated underground in the Arabian Gulf. It even offers its passengers a ride to the “ceiling” of the world: The Burj Khalifa or Khalifa Tower. This incredible skyscraper is the tallest structure in the world and along with Burj Al Arab, are the landmarks of the country. It is 828 meters in height and is visible from a distance of 95 kilometers.
In the afternoon, you will have the chance to visit the old part of Dubai. There you will visit Heritage Village, an outdoor enclosure that restages the life of the ancient inhabitants of Dubai in a series of museums and exhibitions. The architecture, live performances, local products and artisan pieces that you will find here are all very representative of the culture.
The tour will continue to Al Bastakiya, an area characterized by its narrow streets and charming courtyards. After this, you will visit Dubai Museum, where you will learn all about the city’s history, prior to the oil boom that led to its rapid development. Later in the day you will board an “abra”, a water taxi typical of the region, and ride along the river admiring the city skyline. The tour continues to the rich flavors, scents and colors of the souk of spices, and on into the world's most famous gold bazaar.
