Breakfast on board. Possibility of going on an optional tour to Abu Simbel
The temples of Abu Simbel are located 280 km - 3 hours approx by bus. These impressive temples were on the verge of disappearing due to the construction of the Aswan Dam, but thanks to the worldwide appeal of UNESCO it was possible to rescue these temples by moving them piece by piece to the current site (200 meters further back and 60 meters higher than the original site) and that has allowed it to endure to this day. The main landmark of the complex is the Temple of Ramses II, whose main facade features 4 astonishing 20-meter-high statues and represents the majesty of Ancient Egypt. If you walk inside, you will find an extensive gallery and several rooms to honor the gods of Egyptian culture. In Abu Simbel you will also find the temple dedicated to Nafertari, the favorite wife of this pharaoh. On the main façade there are 6 statues of equal size that represent Ramses II on 4 occasions and Nafertari herself on 2, but always with different attributes. Next, we will return to the ship for lunch.
For those who do not want to join the optional excursion, free morning to walk around Aswan or rest and enjoy the facilities of the motorboat.
