Osiris was the Funeral God, the god of the dead. He was entitled to inherit his father's reign on earth, but the jealous god Set murdered Osiris, cut up the corpse into several pieces and scattered them all over the world. Osiris's wife Isis began to search for the remnants of her beloved husband. With the help of her sister Nephthis she found all body parts except the phallus. With her magic power, Isis was able to to embalm Osiris, who became the first mummy of Egypt. Osiris and Isis procreated Horus. Osiris is mostly represented as a person with green skin carrying a white crown holding a scepter and a whip in his hands. Osiris was the God of the underworld and only he could grant eternal life.
