| At present there are two locks at Esna in order to facilitate the navigation and reduce waiting times to pass the lock. For the time being there are no problems, but as the Egyptian Authority of Irrigation and Hydraulic Energy closes one of the Esna locks twice a year for maintenance,it may occur that during this period the Nile cruisers will have to modify their itinerary. As for now, we ignore the possible effect of this issue regarding navigation as this is the first year that two locks are operating, but in case the cruisers have to wait at Esna being unable to sail to Luxor, transportation between Luxor and Esna is then carried out by bus. We will always try our best to fulfil the itinerary of your program. |
